For the past eight years, Jeremiah and Aishetu Onubi have been travelling from their homeland Nigeria to Sheba Medical Center in Israel. Jeremiah is a professional medical specialist who served as the director of a military hospital in Nigeria for many years.

I thank the whole staff of Sheba, the orderlies, nurses, doctors, and professors. Special thanks to my coordinator Victoria for her hard work and very warm attitude, as well as Dr. Ivetta and Prof. Nagler.

AM was diagnosed with aplastic anemia in January 2018. Her erythrocyte, thrombocyte and neutrophil counts were extremely low. The six months of treatment she had in her country did not bring any results.

When our twins were born on October 16, 2012, we could not even imagine the troubles we were going to face. Our son Stephan and daughter Lera were born strong and healthy. We were discharged home after six days, full of joy and without any signs of trouble.

Anna was diagnosed with large B-cell lymphoma in the fall of 2016. Her diagnosis was complicated as she was in her 30th week of pregnancy. The doctors weren’t impressed with her test results long before the final diagnosis, and when the diagnosis was made it came as a great shock to Anna.

In 2016, I was diagnosed with prostrate adenocarcinoma (prostate cancer) with a Gleason score of 6. This was the worst news I had received in a long time. It was frustrating and depressing. Many thoughts ran through my mind without any clear source of hope. I shared the news with my family, who were all horrified just pondering the ultimate implications. After overcoming the shock, I realized that I had to take action and sought advice from several sources.

It started quite simply in 2016, one day Aleksey find a lump on the right side of the neck. However, doctors suspected that something was wrong and sent him to a cervical lymph node biopsy. The diagnosis carcinoma shocked him. Trying to find out the way from this situation, Aleksey remembered that his friend had passed the successful treatment at Sheba clinic. That is why he decided to travel to Israel for medical treatment.

Lyudmila, a resident of the Ukraine, came to Sheba Medical Center to seek treatment for breast cancer. This is her story: “I have always tried to live a healthy lifestyle by being active in sports, maintaining a nutritious diet, and having annual health checkups that included required mammograms. After one of the mammograms, in April 2016, a tumor was found in my left breast. The tumor measured 5.5 to 9.0. After further testing, I received the life-altering diagnosis of breast cancer.
