To confirm the diagnosis, I was given the recommendation to revise the results of the histological examination in Moscow. But the conclusion was the same: considering the immunophenotype, the histological picture corresponds to Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and nodular sclerosis.
I was shocked.
Nobody wanted to believe it, I felt as if all these things weren’t happening to me. Of course, I feared very much for my family and children, I was frightened by the horrible diagnosis, I thought that I was sentenced to death and nothing could be fixed…
At first, I was treated in my country. It was a long and painful year, and everything seemed to be fine – I had gone into remission. But then, during the next examination, they discovered a relapse, and then I really thought that this was the end and I definitely had no chance to survive…
Inspired by my friends, I decided to seek treatment abroad.
We considered Germany and Israel. I decided to go to Israel. My good friends live there. I really want to express my gratitude to them for everything they have done for me. They happened to work in Sheba, which finally influenced my decision to go to Sheba Medical Center.
I was treated for four months. First, they took a new biopsy to confirm the diagnosis, and unfortunately, it was confirmed. Then I received two cycles of chemotherapy, with two-week breaks, after which came to the preparation for the bone marrow transplant. I had to stay in the hospital for a month during the preparations, and then the bone marrow transplant was performed.
It went over well, I was very pleased with the result. Now I am healthy and happy!
I was struck by the kind attitude of the entire staff, everyone tried to support me, to cheer me up. Surprisingly, it didn’t feel as if I was staying in a hospital. I want to express my and my family’s gratitude to everyone who participated in this struggle, to all those good-natured people who had not remained indifferent to my faith.
I thank the whole staff of Sheba, the orderlies, nurses, doctors, and professors. Special thanks to my coordinator Victoria for her hard work and very warm attitude, as well as Dr. Ivetta and Prof. Nagler. I also want to separately thank Valeria, all my friends, and my family for their great support, for the happiness to wake up each morning, and enjoy each moment of my life! THANKS!!!
