Sheba Tops the Forbes 2019 List of the Best Doctors in Israel

Forbes 2019 List of the Best Doctors
A total of 1,108 doctors are on the list – and 187 of them work at Sheba.

For the past six years, Forbes has compiled an annual list of the best doctors in Israel. Medical professionals from across Israel are asked to recommend physicians from other medical institutions and specializations, and once again, Sheba’s doctors compose a long list of specialists at the top. This impressive triumph follows Newsweek’s recent honoring of Sheba as one of the 10 Best Hospitals in the World.

33 categories of medical fields were surveyed, and Sheba took the #1 spot in approximately one-third of these specialties. The Forbes list highlights physicians from nearly two dozen major hospitals in Israel, so ranking supreme is a tremendous achievement. The 11 leading fields at Sheba include: cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, Ob/Gyn, fertility treatments, rehabilitation, internal medicine, ENT, urology, pediatric endocrinology, dermatology, and genetics. “We are incredibly proud to feature so many of Sheba’s top doctors in this prestigious magazine,” said Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center. “Never resting on our laurels, our doctors strive to provide first-rate medical care via their innovative methods to patients from across the entire spectrum of Israeli society and around the globe 24/7, 365 days a year.”

Sheba is constantly advancing its services, upgrading technologies, pushing forwards with innovative treatments, and ensuring that their doctors stay current with the latest developments in patient-centric care. The hospital partakes in 3,330 clinical research trials yearly, giving people the opportunity to benefit from cutting-edge therapies.

“I’m proud for our doctors to be chosen again for being the best specialists in the country”, said Prof. Eyal Sivan, Director of the Josef Buchmann Gynecology and Maternity Center. “It is no coincidence, since we have been educating our doctors for years. They receive additional training even after the challenging period of specialization, and as a result they maintain an exceptional level of professionalism.”

Sheba is the most comprehensive, advanced medical center in the Middle East. The staff includes nearly 2,000 multidisciplinary doctors and 9,100 healthcare professionals, and Sheba performs over 50,000 surgeries per year. The vast 200-acre campus provides patients with efficient, all-inclusive services.

With a passionate dedication to holistic healthcare, Sheba’s doctors custom-tailor every treatment program to nurture each individual’s physical and emotional comfort. In addition, a personal medical coordinator from the International Medical Tourism Division is assigned to assist patients every step of the way – from travel arrangements through follow-up exams. The high quality medical care at Sheba gives ultimate value at an affordable price; as a government institution, the costs are completely transparent with no hidden fees.
