Prof. Rechavi, the recipient of Israel Prize, spearheads The Cancer Research Center at Sheba, which is involved in the latest, cutting-edge pre-clinical and clinical research projects. This facility’s work combines the most progressive diagnostic and treatment modalities to caring for cancer patients. Advanced technologies, such as gene sequencing, bioinformatics, microarrays, molecular cytogenetics, stem cells and more are implemented and constantly developed further.
“We are very proud of this achievement,” said Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center. “Prof. Rechavi is well deserving of this prestigious award, working day and night to find novel ways to treat cancer.”
Sheba was recently ranked the #9 hospital in the world by Newsweek, and Prof. Rechavi’s distinction is an impressive addition to the medical center’s world-class achievements. Sheba is also making headlines for its state-of-the-art isolation and treatment units for the coronavirus epidemic.
