Exciting Collaboration Formed Between Sheba and Houston Methodist – Leading Medical Centers

collaboration with houston methodist
Houston Methodist and Sheba Medical Center, both internationally renowned hospitals, announced they will be teaming up on a variety of new, innovative medical projects.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Sheba and Houston Methodist have been dedicated to the development of innovative medicine to fight the coronavirus. Houston Methodist is one of the largest hospitals in the United States, a multidisciplinary academic medical center ranked as one of the top 20 hospitals in the US for patient care and safety, by US News & World Report. Sheba is the largest, most comprehensive hospital in the Middle East, ranked in Newsweek’s Top 10 Hospitals worldwide. Both medical centers have been spearheading patient care, education and research throughout the pandemic

“We are honored and excited to enhance our image as a hospital without boundaries that is also renowned for our global impact, with the medical prowess of Houston Methodist,” said Yoel Har-Even, Director of Sheba International. “We will tackle a myriad of pressing medical issues. And I am sure that together we will Accelerate the Redesign of healthcare through Collaboration, which is the acronym (ARC) of our world-renowned innovation center.”

In recent months, hundreds of new ideas and designs for finding technological models to help predict patient deterioration from the coronavirus have originated at Sheba’s Corona Hub, located on campus at the ARC Innovation Center.

“Healthcare knows no boundaries,” said Cathy Easter, President and CEO of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services. “Learning from one another, particularly during these challenging times, is vital.”

Easter added that both Houston Methodist and Sheba have been heroic in the fight against COVID-19, and unions like this provide a valuable opportunity to leverage collective experiences and know-how – be it to redesign remote patient consultations and telemedicine or to treat the sickest patients through virtual ICUs.

The Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest, a Houston-based office, organized the partnership.
