Does Sheba Offer Any Special Technologies?

In recent years, many innovative therapies have been developed as part of a global focus on personalized, targeted medicine. Sheba offers a range of treatments that are in line with this approach. Our progressive therapies are based on analyzing each individual’s tumor mutations to design customized treatment. Using the results of these analyses, we administer advanced immunotherapies, such as TIL, which involves the removal of specific cancer-fighting cells called tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, that are then isolated in a specialized laboratory, grown to very large numbers, and injected back into the patient’s body.

As a leading Hemato-Oncology center, we offer our patients CAR T-cell therapy – a revolutionary blood cancer treatment that involves programing a patient’s own white blood cells to kill cancer cells. Even when other blood cancer treatments fail, CAR T-cell therapy can help, allowing many patients to achieve remission. CAR T-cell therapy is highly specialized and personalized and is available at a limited number of cancer centers around the world. When applying the treatment, our physicians employ a tailored and holistic approach that caters to your unique needs and the overall well-being of your whole body.

Anna’s Fight Against Lymphoma – Chemotherapy and Bone Marrow Transplant at Sheba

In the fall of 2016, Anna received a devastating diagnosis of large B-cell lymphoma. At the time, she was in her 30th week of pregnancy, which made treatment extraordinarily complicated. Anna began receiving chemotherapy in Russia, until her husband learned about the positive medical experience his boss’s relatives had at Sheba Medical Center in Israel. At that point, they decided to continue her therapy in Israel. Upon Anna’s arrival at Sheba, the doctors delivered one more chemo session before she gave birth to a baby girl at 37 weeks. Afterwards, she underwent two more sessions of chemotherapy before it was determined that a new treatment approach was required. Following two courses of very powerful chemo drugs, Anna had a bone marrow transplant. Now, Anna feels well and is enjoying her healthy baby girl. She undergoes follow-up examinations every six months.

“At Sheba, my whole treatment process was provided by positive, smiling nurses and doctors who helped me overcome the stressful situation,” says Anna. “I am ready to recommend Sheba to everyone who needs hemato-oncology treatment… it is faster, easier, and more professional… more favorable for achieving better treatment outcomes.”
