FAQ: How is bone marrow harvested for transplant?

The doctor who is performing the bone marrow harvest will use a syringe and make multiple skin and bone punctures before they are able to extract enough bone marrow. After the extraction is complete, the doctor will put a sterile bandage on the places where they made the puncture wounds.
