Scoliosis Surgery in Children
Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that usually appears just before puberty in children. Most of the time, scoliosis is mild, but sometimes the spinal deformities continue to deteriorate as the child grows – which can be disabling. At Sheba Medical Center in Israel, we offer cutting-edge surgery for scoliosis that can stop the progression of the curve or correct it fully. In our Spine Deformity Unit, Sheba’s pediatric specialists collaborate to provide precise diagnoses and advanced spinal curvature surgeries for scoliosis in children.

Postoperative Care & Rehabilitation
Following surgery for scoliosis, your child’s spine should show improvement, yet it generally takes at least three months for the spinal bones to fuse properly, and it can take up to two years for them to fuse completely. Our dedicated team at Sheba Medical Center will attend to your child throughout the entire process, providing long-term rehabilitation treatment as needed. Our Pediatric Rehabilitation Department offers an unparalleled standard of care, including physiotherapy, psychological therapy, neuropsychological assessments, speech therapy, and hydrotherapy.
