What causes rouleaux formation in multiple myeloma?

Rouleaux formation in multiple myeloma is caused by the excessive production of abnormal plasma cells in the bone marrow. These cells produce large amounts of monoclonal proteins, leading to the stacking or clumping of red blood cells, known as rouleaux formation.
