Does multiple myeloma cause low ferritin?

Multiple myeloma itself may not directly cause low ferritin levels. However, complications or related conditions associated with multiple myeloma, such as chronic inflammation, impaired iron absorption or bone marrow dysfunction, can contribute to changes in ferritin levels.
