Can you get multiple myeloma from a blood transfusion?

There’s no evidence to suggest that multiple myeloma can be transmitted or contracted through blood transfusions. Blood banks have rigorous screening processes in place to ensure the safety of donated blood. While transfusions can transmit certain infections when safety protocols aren’t followed, multiple myeloma, being a malignancy of plasma cells in the bone marrow, isn’t one of them.
