Can stress cause multiple myeloma?

There’s no scientific evidence directly linking stress to the development of multiple myeloma. Stress affects the body in various ways, potentially weakening the immune system and making it harder to fend off diseases. However, the causes of multiple myeloma are multifactorial, involving genetic mutations, potential environmental exposures and other unknown factors. It’s always advisable to manage and reduce chronic stress for overall wellbeing, but it’s not considered a direct causative factor for multiple myeloma.
