New Maternity Ward Opens at Sheba for a First-rate Birth Experience

new maternity ward
The ribbon was cut on a new, exclusive maternity ward at Sheba this week. Women can look forward to receiving a superior standard of medical care and safety, as well as a pleasant birth experience.

Giving birth to a child is one of the most exciting moments in life – and the new, recently opened maternity unit at Sheba Medical Center offers the ideal setting for this memorable experience. The department was designed with spacious rooms, fully equipped with LCD TVs, ensuite bathrooms and showers, and even a beautiful garden terrace dedicated to the new mothers. There are a variety of room types, including private rooms and rooms that fit two women with total separation and privacy between them.

The unique physical and emotional needs of mother, baby, and family were all taken into consideration when the rooms were designed. The end result is a comfortable, warm, and homey atmosphere.

The pleasant interior design is only one aspect of the overall birth experience provided at Sheba. Obviously, the exceptional dedicated team of medical specialists also plays a large role. Experienced doctors, nurses, lactation consultants, and nutritionists are all dedicated to caring for the women and their newborns.

“The intention is to give the mother fully enveloping care, so her birth experience is perfect,” said Orit Horwitz, Nursing Director of the Women and Maternity Division.

Prof. Eyal Sivan, Director of the Center for Women’s and Maternal Medicine proudly says: “The Sheba department leads the way with the best experts in all areas of medicine that relate to women, including high-risk pregnancy, complicated births, and IVF treatments. We’ve set the bar very high for the healthcare and physical standards under which women give birth, and it’s a winning combination!”
