portable ultrasound devices
Seven points of care ultrasound machines were made available for use in the Internal Medicine Division to improve patient care.

Sheba Medical Center recently acquired 7 innovative and portable point of care ultrasound machines for the Internal Medicine Division, which will assist with swiftly diagnosing patients in emergency situations and improving the quality of care. Potential uses include identifying pericardial effusion and aiding in establishing intravascular access.

According to Prof. Ehud Grossman, director of the Department of Internal Medicine at Sheba Medical Center and Dean of the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv University: “The management at Sheba took an important step to improve patient care by empowering the Internal Medicine Division in a way that allows it to diagnose complex medical conditions faster, provide better care and implement an advanced treatment methodology that will become the standard in all hospitals in the coming years.”

Adding another perspective, Prof. Jonathan Sharabi, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Medicine and Director of the Hypertension Unit at Sheba Medical Center, described the addition of the new portable ultrasound machines as: “Yet another aspect of our commitment to raising the quality of the services we provide to patients.”
