First Israeli-Bahraini Medical Cooperation Initiative Underway
Sheba Medical Center entered a collaboration agreement with Bahrain’s Salmaniya Medical Complex as part of the Israeli-Bahraini Medical Cooperation.
A few months after becoming the first Israeli medical institution to operate in the UAE, Sheba Medical Center confirmed an agreement was reached on a series of exchange programs and collaborations with Bahrain’s Salmaniya Medical Complex in the fields of medical training, innovation, and research.
The Israeli-Bahraini Medical Cooperation was finalized during a formal meeting, held earlier this week, between Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center, and Dr. Ahmed Al Ansari, Director of Salmaniya Medical Complex. To facilitate and formally sign the agreement, Dr. Absari will be visiting Israel and Sheba in the near future.
Sheba Medical Center was chosen by Bahrain’s Supreme Health Council to lead the cooperation between Israel and the Gulf state. Both Salmaniya Medical Complex and Sheba Medical Center are the largest medical centers in their respective countries, while Sheba was also recognized by Newsweek magazine as one of the top 10 hospitals in the world for three consecutive years.
