Prof. Sidi has a long tenure with our institution, having served as the head of the Department of Internal Medicine C at Sheba Medical Center for 20 years. Prior to serving in the IDF as a medical combat officer, he completed medical school at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem (1965-1972). Prof. Sidi specialized in Internal Medicine during his time at Beilinson Medical Center. He also completed a research fellowship in Hemato-Oncology at the University of Michigan in the US. Additionally, he was a visiting scientist at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith Hospital in London, England.
Prof. Sidi has had over 200 articles published in a variety of medical journals.
The Department of Internal Medicine C is a clinically active, academically oriented general medical department, largely serving patient population of the elderly who suffer from chronic maladies such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and acute infectious diseases.
The trained staff provides these patients with further diagnostic evaluation or medical treatment for acute exacerbation of their basic disease. Another primary patient groups are children with acute infectious diseases and patients with unusual rheumatic or contagious diseases. Prof. Sidi leads the research laboratory engaged in the investigation of the preclinical Pharmacotherapy of Cancer. The laboratory’s current focus is the development of novel drug combinations in order to improve the ability to eradicate cancer cells without the need for large amounts of chemotherapy.

Education and Training
- MD from the Hebrew Univeristy Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem specialized in Internal Medicine at the Beilinson Medical Center. During 1980 he was a Visiting Scientist at the Hammersmith Postgraduate Medical School, London, England. From 1982-84 Prof. Sidi completed a Research Fellowship in the Hematology-Oncology Division at the University of Michigan, USA
