About

Prof. Gili Kenet is a Pediatric Hematologist, Professor and chair of the Haematology department at the Sackler Medical School, Tel Aviv University, Chair of the Amalia Biron Research institute of Thrombosis and Hemostasis at Tel Aviv University and the Director of the Israel National Hemophilia Center and Thrombosis Institute in the Sheba Medical Center, Israel.

Professor Kenet received her Medical Degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Her research projects have been focused on neonatal haemostasis, childhood stroke and paediatric thrombophilia, as well as the research of new therapy modes applied to people with Haemophilia and severe bleeding disorders.

She was awarded national grants for pediatric hematology and cancer research, study of rFVIIa mode of action, epidemiology of inhibitor evolution in haemophilia and for personalized tailoring of bypass agent therapy, and applying global haemostasis assays.

Professor Kenet is the author of over 200 manuscripts published in high impact journals (e.g. Circulation, Blood, the Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, Thrombosis and Hemostasis), as well as several chapters in books. She is an active member of the World Federation of Hemophilia, Israeli Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, and the American Society of Hematology, an active reviewer for high impact thrombosis journals and an editorial board member of the Haemophilia journal. She chaired the Israeli Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, and has chaired the Pediatric and Peri-natal Hemostasis Scientific Subcommittee of ISTH; she currently co-chairs the FVIII/FIX and rare bleeding disorders SSC of ISTH. Aside from publishing many manuscripts she has also published one Hebrew poetry book.
