The Josef Buchmann Gynecology And Maternity Center

For 40 years, the Buchmann Gynecology and Maternity Center has provided the best in women’s healthcare. The center is extremely comprehensive and serves a very large number of patients each year – over 17,500 inpatients and 56,000 outpatients.

The center is also associated with the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. Both Israeli and American medical students are trained in the center, which is known as an academic center of excellence. In addition, there are over 60 residents in training and many senior physicians. Continual research, quality medical care, and commitment to our patients are our guiding principles.

Gynecologic services include regular screenings like Pap smears, pelvic examinations, and treatment and diagnosis of gynecologic cancers.

Maternal Fetal Medicine Service

This service provides complete and comprehensive care for expectant mothers and their babies. Highly trained perinatologists are on staff to offer prenatal care and advanced medicine for complicated pregnancies. Additionally, amniocentesis, advanced ultrasound and Doppler imaging, and umbilical cord blood sampling are all available.

The OB/GYN Ultrasonic Imaging Unit

This imaging unit is focused on obstetric and gynecological assessment. One of the primary procedures is ultrasonography of the fetus in utero. This is a very common procedure in pregnant women and is used to check for birth defects and fetal growth and development. Ultrasound is also employed in guiding fetal therapy for diseases such as fetal thrombocytopenia and intrauterine infections.

The gynecological uses of ultrasound imaging include assessment of tumors and diagnosis of other gynecologic problems in combination with pelvic examination. Finally, ultrasound can also be used in the evaluation of infertility, as it provides a detailed view of the reproductive structures.

Reproductive Endocrinology And Infertility

This unit exists to provide services for couples having difficulty conceiving. There are a large variety of services available to both male and female patients, all provided under the care of fertility specialists. They include cutting edge techniques, such as:

  • Hormonal Profiles

  • Percutaneous Sperm Extraction

  • Controlled Ovarian Stimulation
  • Testicular Sperm Extraction
  • Embryo Freezing
  • Egg and Sperm Donation
